Cloud - DevOps Engineer

What will you be doing

You will focus on designing, implementing and managing cloud infrastructures, services and solutions as a Cloud Engineer at Foreside. In this position you will collaborate closely with and in cross-functional development teams to guarantee smooth integration of cloud services and hosting into projects and applications. Keeping security and cost-effectiveness in mind, you will also monitor and optimize the cloud resources for the teams.

As a Cloud Engineer you work on challenging custom enterprise applications and platforms for a wide range of mid -to large scale customers built with modern stacks. Ensuring security and compliance of the cloud environment is up to par will also be part of your responsibilities. In the event of system outages, you will respond promptly and put measures in place to prevent future incidents.

Your skills

Experience with AWS, Azure and/ or Google Cloud
Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
Knowledge of automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation or ARM
Experience with Git, Image registries and CI/CD Runners/ Agents
Demonstrable 3+ years of work experience Cloud- and/or DevOps engineering
Good understanding of Cloud infrastructures, networks and security
Ability to design and implement scalable, highly available and fault-tolerant systems
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, SAFe, DevOps and/or CI/CD methodologies

Any experience with the item(s) below is a plus:

Experience with one of the following databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL-Server, MongoDB, Redis or ElasticSearch
Experience with Serverless architecture and Functions-as-a-Service (FaaS)
Experience with Message Brokers, Event Busses and/or OpenTelemetry
Experience with Tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Git, Registry scanners and others
Knowledge of Microservices architecture
Experience with Agile development methodologies

Qualifications

An expert at your field or the drive to become one
Working experience in the Netherlands is required
Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security and DevOps processes
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Computer Science or related field
English B2 and Dutch A2 is required
